Psalms 127:3 "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him."
At DCC we want to place an emphasis on providing a safe environment for kids to come and worship with us, and educate them about God's word and what it means. We want to help them understand God's word so they can use it every day to grow spiritually, encourage, and love one another and tell others about Jesus every where they go. We desire to make learning about Gods word fun and inspiring for each child, in anticipation that they cannot wait to come back each week and experience more and more. And We want you as parents to see a difference in your kids because they have been with us, and experienced Jesus each time they come to church.
Proverbs 22:6 says "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." We all know that at times life gets crazy, and we all stray away or step away from church at some point. It happens. But we believe that if you put the work in to develop that strong foundation in them early, that God's word is true. Even though they may drift or step away for a season, God will bring them back to this foundation that he created in each of them. Back to where he found them. It may not be in our timing, but they will remember God's word, God's promises and not depart from it. He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it. (Philippians 1:6)
It is our job as parents and as leaders to develop them and prepare them for the future, and most importantly for Christ's return. May your child's light shine as bright as possible, in this world of darkness!
